is a senior at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, where he plays vibes and piano with the premier jazz ensemble, the Jazz Explorers. He is also a member of the Colburn Conservatory’s Monday Night Combo. Jake’s original compositions and arrangements are part of the repertoire of both ensembles.
In addition to on-campus performances, Jake has appeared at Los Angeles’ major jazz clubs: Catalina, Vibrato and Vitello’s. The 2010 Jazz Explorers European tour brought him to Paris, Amsterdam and Bruges. His “Wolf Blitzers” jazz quartet has entertained at a variety of special events.  Jake made his professional debut at age 13 at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica, CA. He was a semifinalist in the Los Angeles Music Center’s 2011 Spotlight Awards in Jazz Instrumental Performance and he has received special honors from the Interlochen Arts Camp and the Dos Pueblos Jazz Festival. Jake is also an accomplished rock guitarist and songwriter. His song, “Get on the Bus,” was one of ten finalists nationwide in the “America’s Greenest School” competition.
